Announcing The Ultimate Screen Clock 6 _______________________________________________________________________ The Ultimate Screen Clock 6 has been released. We've refined the internal architecture of The Ultimate Screen Clock to make it faster, more memory-efficient and better able to take advantage of the functionality of Windows 7, 8 and 10. While most of the seriously cool changes embodied in The Ultimate Screen Clock 6 are "under the hood," users of the latest release will notice that it's noticeably quicker, especially for functions that call for significant system resources, such as managing analog clocks. The updated architecture will also allow us to add new features to The Ultimate Screen Clock that were impractical or genuinely impossible under version 5. - The Ultimate Screen Clock 6 is fully compatible with Windows 10. - Adds new clock styles. Check out London, which looks highly distressed and generally retro, and Blue Buttons, which does pretty much what it says on the box. - Adds new directives to the clock definition language to allow for a small calendar dial - one such dial appears in the new London style. - Fine-tunes a number of issues in the clock rendering engine. - Implements our improved memory management to allow The Ultimate Screen Clock to operate with a smaller memory and resource footprint. - Addresses an installer issue that prevented the application from installing correctly in a user-selected folder under some builds of Windows. - Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software developers never really stop meddling with. - Updates the documentation. Graphic Workshop Professional 6 Revision 2 (Second Notification) _______________________________________________________________________ This release addresses a number of minor issues that crept into the initial version 6 release. We recommend that all users of Graphic Workshop Professional download and install it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Graphic Workshop Professional 6 has been released. We've refined the internal architecture of Graphic Workshop Professional to make it faster, more memory-efficient and better able to take advantage of the functionality of Windows 7, 8 and 10. While most of the seriously cool changes embodied in Graphic Workshop Professional 6 are "under the hood," users of the latest release will notice that it's noticeably quicker, especially for functions that call for significant system resources, such as thumbnail management. The updated architecture will also allow us to add new features to Graphic Workshop that were impractical or genuinely impossible under version 5. ........................................................................ WHAT'S NEW The changes in version 6 include: - Graphic Workshop Professional 6 is fully compatible with Windows 10. - Graphic Workshop Professional 6 features a comprehensive EXIF editor to allow anyone with a digital camera - or a cell phone or a tablet - to view, modify and expand upon the hidden metadata stored in JPEG files. - The ancillary EXIF functions in Graphic Workshop have been rewritten to make them compliant with the current EXIF specification. - The browser thumbnail interface has been rewritten to make it quicker and more intuitive. The most obvious manifestation of this will be the items in a browser visibly disabling when Graphic Workshop is busy. - The right-click-to-exit function in the View window has been refined to prevent it from summoning the browser right-click menu under some builds of Windows. - Items can be removed from the History panes in the Destination, Move Copy and Search windows. Hold down the Alt key and select the item to be removed. - A somewhat insidious resource leak in the browser user interface has been addressed. - The Black Threshold and White Threshold filters now include an optional antialias mode for better image quality when you process your subjects to look like ghosts and vampires. - The middle-click zoom toggle in View mode has been updated to prevent if from initiating multiple zoom changes in a single click under some builds of Windows. - A resource leak that turned up in the quick rename function and the Favorites window has been addressed. - The thumbnail manager for Graphic Workshop's browser windows is considerably quicker. - Addresses an installer issue that prevented the application from installing correctly in a user-selected folder under some builds of Windows. - Most of the graphic file format readers are significantly faster. - Graphic Workshop requires less memory to run, which will make it and anything else running under Windows quite a bit speedier, especially on systems with limited system resources.
