Graphic Workshop Professional 6 Revision 6 (Second Notification) _______________________________________________________________________ Graphic Workshop Professional 6 has been updated. This release: - Completely rewrites the Archive Manager features of Graphic Workshop. Based on the popular LibZip library, Archive Manager is now considerably faster. In the event that Archive Manager is one of the features of Graphic Workshop you haven't tried yet, right-click on a ZIP file from a Graphic Workshop browser window and select Archive Manager. You'll be able to apply most of what Graphic Workshop can do with individual graphics to the files in your ZIP, without having to extract them first. The new ZIP library closes a number of potential security holes, which could have allowed a malicious ZIP file to crash Graphic Workshop and run arbitrary malicious code in memory. If you're using Archive Manager, or any of the other functions of Graphic Workshop that get involved with ZIP archives, you really need to update right now. - Fixes a problem with Archive Manager that prevented it from creating folders when it extracted files from a ZIP archive with the Preserve Paths option enabled. - Improves the performance of the ZIP file extraction function... a lot. - Fixes a potential security issue in the CDR reader, some CDR files actually being ZIP archives. - Updates the compression library that reads and writes PNG graphics. This addresses a potentially security issue. If you're running Graphic Workshop, you really want to update to this release pretty much immediately. It also fixes a few memory leaks. - Updates the file drag 'n drop feature of Graphic Workshop's browser windows to properly handle files in sub-folders dropped into a browser. - Adds an option to place a Graphic Workshop shortcut item on the Windows task bar when Graphic Workshop is used to view images from another application, such as Windows Explorer. This feature can be disabled in Setup. - Fixes a bug in the file override logic which confused the Paint function in Graphic Workshop's right-click menus if it was applied to variable-quality files... most notably JPEGs. The result was often very, very low-quality images after Paint was done. Oooops. - Fixes a bug in the animation viewer that could crash Graphic Workshop under some circumstances. - Fixes a bug in the FLI decoder. - Allows the default name for new folders created from within a Graphic Workshop browser window to be set by editing GwsPro60.ini. - Addresses a number of user interface issues in e-Paint UltraLight. - Updates the PNG read and write functionality used by Graphic Workshop's ancillary applications, such as GWS Camera, e-Paint UltraLight and Rotator. - Addresses a number of issues in the File History window introduced in the previous update. - Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software developers never really stop meddling with. - Updates the documentation.
