1. Announcing GIF Construction Set Professional 7
_______________________________________________________________________
GIF Construction Set Professional 7 has been released.
We've refined the internal architecture of GIF Construction Set
Professional to make it faster, more memory-efficient and better able to
take advantage of the functionality of Windows 7, 8 and 10.
While most of the seriously cool changes embodied in GIF Construction
Set Professional 7 are "under the hood," users of the latest release
will notice that it's noticeably quicker, especially for functions that
call for significant system resources, such as assembling complex
animations.
The updated architecture will also allow us to add new features to
GIF Construction Set Professional that were impractical or genuinely
impossible under version 6.

WHAT'S NEW
The changes in version 7 include:
- Adds Titles and Credits. Equip your animations and digital video with
professional movie titles and credits. Easy to use, quick to build and
requiring no detectable knowledge of what a "key grip" actually does,
the Titles and Credits window will turn your animations into movies
with a few mouse clicks. You'll find it in the Block menu.
- Improves the plugin interface, which will allow plugins to load
in less time and operate faster.
- Fixes a number of minor issues in the plugins themselves.
- Applies numerous minor updates and fixes to Animation Wizard.
- Improves the timing accuracy of the View window.
- Updates lots of user-interface issues throughout the application.
- Improves the general sneakiness of Supercompressor.
- GIF Construction Set Professional 7 uses an altered installation
structure that's way more resistant to being broken by
malfunctioning and overly-paranoid third-party security software.
We're reasonably certain that the "Can't create specified file"
error is history.
- Updates UpToDate.
- Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software
developers never really stop meddling with.
- Updates the documentation.

UPGRADES
If you registered or upgraded a registration for GIF Construction Set
Professional 6 on or after March 1, 2016, you’re welcome to a free
upgrade to GIF Construction Set Professional 7.
If you registered or upgraded a registration for GIF Construction Set
Professional 6 prior to March 1, 2016, you can upgrade to GIF
Construction Set Professional 7 for half the cost of a new single-user
license.
When you first run GIF Construction Set Professional 7, it will check to
see if you have a registration for GIF Construction Set Professional 6
on your system. If it finds one, it will display a window to tell you
which of the foregoing upgrade options is applicable. Click on the
Upgrade button to visit our web page and request or order an upgrade.
The upgrade window can subsequently be accessed through the Help >
Upgrade Manager > Upgrade from Previous Version item of GIF Construction
Set Professional 7's menu bar.

PLUGINS
All the animation plugins for GIF Construction Set Professional have
been upgraded to run with GIF Construction Set Professional 7.
If you have registered one or more plugins for a previous release of
GIF Construction Set, your existing registration keys are still
valid. You'll just need to download the version 7 installers for your
plugins.

IMPORTANT: If you have plugins installed under GIF Construction Set 6 or
PNG MNG Construction Set 6 and you plan to uninstall GIF Construction
Set 6 or PNG MNG Construction Set 6 to replace them with the new
version 7 software, please be sure uninstall all your version 6 plugins,
and then uninstall GIF Construction Set 6 and PNG MNG Construction Set 6.
If you have a number of animation plugins installed on your system,
you'll probably find them quicker to uninstall through the Windows
Control Panel's Programs and Features applet.

2. Announcing e-Paint 7 (Second Notification)

e-Paint 7 has been released.
We've refined the internal architecture of e-Paint to make it faster,
more memory-efficient and better able to take advantage of the
functionality of Windows 7, 8 and 10.
While most of the seriously cool changes embodied in e-Paint 7 are
"under the hood," users of the latest release will notice that it's
noticeably quicker, especially for functions that call for significant
system resources, such as filtering images.
The updated architecture will also allow us to add new features to
e-Paint that were impractical or genuinely impossible under version 6.

WHAT'S NEW
The changes in version 7 include:
- Adds an Adjust window to let you quickly... and interactively...
fine-tune your photographs. It's in the Image menu.
- Adds a Photography Workshop window to assist you with refining
your pictures... or portions thereof... using e-Paint's enviable
library of filters without having to understand a single adjustment
or control. Click on the tiles for the effect you want and you're
done. It's also in the Image menu.
- e-Paint 7 uses an altered installation structure that's way more
resistant to being broken by malfunctioning and overly-paranoid
third-party security software. We're reasonably certain that the
"Can't create specified file" error is history.
- The Image menu Filters window will now optimize itself to use most of
your desktop area, allowing for much larger sample panes. This
behavior can be disabled in Setup, should you prefer the classic
Filters interface.
- Fixes a bug that prevented documents added to e-Paint through the
Filter window's Apply to Duplicate option from appearing in the
Window menu.
- Fixes a resource leak in the drawing engine that could slow down
e-Paint over time when it was asked to work with large images under
some builds of Windows.
- Improves the file menu thumbnail management for quicker start-ups.
- Improves the performance of the rendering engine.
- Updates UpToDate.
- Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software
developers never really stop meddling with.
- Updates the documentation.

Graphic Workshop Professional 7 has been released.
We've refined the internal architecture of Graphic Workshop
Professional to make it faster, more memory-efficient and better able
to take advantage of the functionality of Windows 7, 8 and 10.
While most of the seriously cool changes embodied in Graphic Workshop
Professional 7 are "under the hood," users of the latest release will
notice that it's noticeable quicker, especially for functions that call
for significant system resources, such as thumbnail management.
The updated architecture will also allow us to add new features to
Graphic Workshop that were impractical or genuinely impossible under
version 6.

WHAT'S NEW
The changes in version 7 include:
- Graphic Workshop now includes Scrapbook, a stand-alone clipboard
manager that will automatically store items pasted to the Windows
clipboard from any application, and allow you to browse and recall
them when you want to use them again.
- Adds an Adjust window to let you quickly... and interactively...
fine-tune your photographs. Right-click on any picture and select
Adjust from the menu that appears.
- Graphic Workshop Professional 7 uses an altered installation
structure that's way more resistant to being broken by
malfunctioning and overly-paranoid third-party security software.
We're reasonably certain that the "Can't create specified file"
error is history.
- The GIF Construction Set UltraLight animation software that installs
with Graphic Workshop Professional 7 has been completely rewritten,
and is now a simplified version of our GIF Construction Set
Professional application.
- The View mode Filters window will now optimize itself to use most of
your desktop area, allowing for much larger sample panes. This
behavior can be disabled in Setup, should you prefer the classic
Filters interface.
- The Save As window now includes the Graphic Workshop format selection
tiles, for quicker file saves.
- Adds a history stack to the View window. Hold down the Shift key and
right-click to step back through your zoom and view events. See the
View section of the Reference document of the Manual for a compete
discussion of this feature.
- Graphic Workshop Professional 7 now includes a stand-alone Archive
Manager to create, manage, extract and modify ZIP archives... really,
really quickly.
- Fixes a bug in the EMF reader that could cause some metafiles to appear
distorted.
- Fixes a bug in the View window that prevented alpha-enabled images
from displaying transparency correctly after the Filter window was
invoked and Undo was activated.
- Fixes a bug in the Watermark function N macro that caused it to expand
incorrectly under some builds of Windows.
- Updates the View mode Configuration window with additional options.
- Addresses several issues with the Photography Workshop window.
- Fixes a bug that could crash Graphic Workshop if documents were
written to formats supported by plugins.
- Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software
developers never really stop meddling with.
- Updates the documentation.
