We'd also like to wish you substantially less snowfall than is illustrated here. May the season bring you joy, the comfort of family, the serenity of the closing of the year, and no socks.* RAW Digital Camera and Smartphone Plugin Revision 3 for Graphic Workshop Professional 9 The RAW Digital Camera Plugin for Graphic Workshop Professional 9 has been updated to improve its image handling for many of the cameras it supports. It currently processes pictures from 1,016 popular digital cameras and phones, including iPhones and Samsung Galaxy. If you haven't encountered this technology before, most digital cameras that didn't arrive as a prize in a cereal box create JPEG images by default, but they can be configured to store raw sensor data. Correctly processed, pictures saved to RAW files look vastly better than JPEGs, as they suffer no image degradation. The "correctly processed" part is this plugin. The RAW Digital Camera Plugin will let you view RAW image files exactly as your camera created them, and store them in a non-lossy format, such as PNG. If you own a digital camera or a supported phone - or if you're just thinking about buying one - you and your immediate descendants will thank you for downloading this plugin. See the download link, below, for a complete list of the cameras the plugin supports. You'll need to be running Graphic Workshop Professional 9 to install this plugin. If you're running an earlier version of Graphic Workshop, please click on the huge blue button below to upgrade to Graphic Workshop Professional 9 and access this amazing plugin. In the event that you have a registration key for an earlier release of the RAW Digital Camera Plugin, note that it will still work with this version. iPhone is a trademark of Apple Inc. Announcing Font Wrangler 9 (second notification) Font Wrangler 9 has been released. We've further refined its architecture to make it more memory-efficient, and to better utilize the resources available under Windows 10. (We hasten to add that it still performs admirably under earlier builds of Windows, all the way back to Windows XP, if you're feeling retro.) Among the new features and enhancements to Font Wrangler9, you'll find that it: * Adds *ZIP archive support*. If you like to download fonts from the innumerable font repositories around the Internet, you'll probably have noticed that most of them arrive in ZIP archives. While it's hardly taxing to un-ZIP one or two of these things, doing so for dozens or even hundreds of ZIPped fonts can be time-consuming and potentially a bit confusing, as the file names used for fonts usually lean toward being decidedly cryptic. Font Wrangler will let you browse, view and install fonts from within ZIP archives. You won't have to explicitly extract the TTF or OTF files therein to your hard drive to access them. * Updates all the *image import and export* libraries to improve their performance. * Updates the *font preview window* to maximize its vertical dimension based on the size of your desktop. Unless you configure it to use a really large point size or you preview extremely weird fonts, you shouldn't have to scroll around to see the entire font listing. * Updates the default behavior of the *list right-click menus* to operate on the font that has been clicked on, rather than those that have been selected. Note that you can revert to the previous behavior for the right-click menus in Setup, should you prefer it. * Adds a *tool bar* to the Font Wrangler application window, to make accessing its primary functions easier and more intuitive. * Adjusts the *memory footprint* of Font Wrangler 9. This allows it to better get along with Windows' memory management logic, load a bit quicker and run more effectively and reliably, especially if it finds itself on a system that's a bit short of memory. * Enhances the sneakiness of the *validation logic* to further reduce the likelihood of Font Wrangler 9un-registering itself and thereafter deciding that its key is already in use because Windows 10 has silently updated something. Hopefully this one nails the problem until the end of time. * Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software developers never really stop meddling with. * Updates the documentation. As in years past, when you run Font Wrangler 9 for the first time, it will look for a previous installation of Font Wrangler 8 and optionally *copy your existing configuration*, so you won't have to set everything up by hand. Click on the blue button to download Font Wrangler 9. Upgrades If you have registered or upgraded a registration for Font Wrangler8 on or after May 1, 2018, you're welcome to a *no-cost upgrade* to Font Wrangler9. If you have registered or upgraded a registration for Font Wrangler8 prior to May 1, 2018, we invite you to upgrade to Font Wrangler9 for *half the current new-user price*. The first time you run Font Wrangler9, it will determine which upgrade option applies to your license. Click on the blue button below to visit the upgrade page. You can access the no-cost upgrade page directly by clicking on the foregoing link. Animation Workshop 9 (additional notification) Animation Workshop 9 has been released. We've further refined its architecture to make it more memory-efficient, and to better utilize the resources available under Windows 10. (We hasten to add that it still performs admirably under earlier builds of Windows, all the way back to Windows XP, if you're feeling retro.) Among the new features and enhancements to Animation Workshop 9, you'll find that it: * Exports GIF animations as *in-line graphics*. This allows animations to be embedded directly in the HTML files of web pages, rather than referenced as discrete GIF files. Pages so constructed load faster, and are pretty much impervious to finding that their animations have become lost or damaged. * Updates all the*image import libraries* to improve their performance and to deal with more weird-beard PNG and JPG files. They're out there, lurking... * Improves the logic for the application status bar so Animation Workshop doesn't go into vapor lock during long processes. * Adjusts the *memory footprint* of Animation Workshop. This allows it to better get along with Windows' memory management logic, load a bit quicker and run more effectively and reliably, especially if it finds itself on a system that's a bit short of memory. * Enhances the sneakiness of the *validation logic* to further reduce the likelihood of Animation Workshop un-registering itself and thereafter deciding that its key is already in use because Windows 10 has silently updated something. Hopefully this one nails the problem until the end of time. * Improves the *rendering engine*. It's a ceaseless quest... * Improves the general level of aggressiveness in the GIF export *Supercompressor*. * Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software developers never really stop meddling with. * Updates the documentation. As in years past, when you run Animation Workshop 9 for the first time, it will look for a previous installation of Animation Workshop8 and optionally *copy your existing configuration*, so you won't have to set everything up by hand. Click on the blue button to download Animation Workshop9. Upgrades If you have registered or upgraded a registration for Animation Workshop 8 on or after May 1, 2018, you're welcome to a *no-cost upgrade* to Animation Workshop 9.
