1. Announcing Pagan Daybook 7

Pagan Daybook 7 has been released.
We've refined the internal architecture of Pagan Daybook to make it
faster, more memory-efficient and better able to take advantage of the
functionality of Windows 7, 8 and 10.
While most of the seriously cool changes embodied in Pagan Daybook 7
are "under the hood," users of the latest release will notice that it's
noticeably quicker, especially for functions that call for significant
system resources, such as creating complex background effects.
The updated architecture will also allow us to add new features to
Pagan Daybook that were impractical or genuinely impossible under
version 6.
- Fixes a bug that could crash the screen saver under some builds of
Windows.
- Adds optional drop shadows to the text elements defined by Pagan
Daybook's themes, both because the look cool and to make the text
easier to read.
- Improves the Calendar window.
- Improves the observance database logic and structure to make it
quicker to access.
- Modifies the registration logic to work around Windows 10's recent
updates, which have been randomly de-registering software when they
sneak silently onto your computer. The sudden appearance of the "this
key is already registered" message should be a distant memory.
- Updates lots of user-interface issues throughout the application.
- Pagan Daybook 7 uses an altered installation structure that's way
more resistant to being broken by malfunctioning and overly-paranoid
third-party security software. We're reasonably certain that the
"Can't create specified file" error is history.
- Updates UpToDate.
- Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software
developers never really stop meddling with.
- Updates the documentation.

If you registered or upgraded a registration for Pagan Daybook 6 on or
after April 1, 2016, you’re welcome to a free upgrade to Pagan
Daybook 7.
If you registered or upgraded a registration for Pagan Daybook 6 prior
to April 1, 2016, you can upgrade to Pagan Daybook 7 for half the cost
of a new single-user license.
When you first run Pagan Daybook 7, it will check to see if you have a
registration for Pagan Daybook 6 on your system. If it finds one, it
will display a window to tell you which of the foregoing upgrade options
is applicable. Click on the Upgrade button to visit our web page and
request or order an upgrade.
The upgrade window can subsequently be accessed through the right
click > Upgrade Manager > Upgrade from Previous Version item of Pagan
Daybook.

Font Wrangler 7 has been released.

PLUGINS
All the animation plugins for PNG MNG Construction Set have been
upgraded to run with PNG MNG Construction Set 7.
If you have registered one or more plugins for a previous release of
PNG MNG Construction Set, your existing registration keys are still
valid. You'll just need to download the version 7 installers for your
plugins.

IMPORTANT: If you have plugins installed under GIF Construction Set 6 or
PNG MNG Construction Set 6 and you plan to uninstall GIF Construction
Set 6 or PNG MNG Construction Set 6 to replace them with the new
version 7 software, please be sure uninstall all your version 6 plugins,
and then uninstall GIF Construction Set 6 and PNG MNG Construction Set 6.
If you have a number of animation plugins installed on your system,
you'll probably find them quicker to uninstall through the Windows
Control Panel's Programs and Features applet.
