1. GIF Construction Set Professional 7 Revision 5
_______________________________________________________________________
GIF Construction Set Professional 7 has been updated. This release:
- Adds an oft-requested option to the View window to allow it to play
animations backwards. Hold down the Ctrl key when you open the View
window, or click on Pause and then click on Play with the Ctrl held
down when the View window is open. Be warned - playing animations that
have been previously supercompressed can look extremely weird.
We hasten to add that if you use this feature and you discover an
animation that you prefer playing in reverse, the Reverse item of the
GIF Construction Set Block menu will create a copy that plays that way
all by itself.
- Updates the Preview window in Animation Wizard. It now provides a
larger viewing area, and it can toggle between the actual size of the
graphic being previewed and the size adjusted to fit in the window -
left click in Preview to change views. Note that you can specify the
default preview mode in Setup.
- Updates the color management functionality in Animation Wizard and the
Combine window to produce more faithful animations.
- Addresses a number of issues in the Print function, including some
page metrics and a problem with the Print window that previously
prevented it from successfully finding the default printer under some
builds of Windows.
- Fixes several inconsistences - which is, yes, a euphemism for 'bugs'
- in the Titles and Credits window.
- Improves the object management in the Favorites window to allow it to
manage large favorites lists much faster.
- Addresses a number of issues in the Transitions window.
- Addresses a potential security issue.
- Updates the validation logic to deal with several additional... if
happily obscure... Windows 10 issues.
- Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software
developers never really stop meddling with.
- Updates the documentation.

2. Graphic Workshop Professional 7 Revision 5 (Second Notification)
_______________________________________________________________________
Graphic Workshop Professional 7 has been updated. This release:
- Deals with several issues in the Prompt Before Overwrite window, which
could display incorrect thumbnails and related information for some
batch functions, under some builds of Windows.
- Updates a number of functions in Archive Manager.
- Improves the logic to allow Graphic Workshop's various printing
functions - and those of its ancillary applications - to correctly
locate your default printer under all versions of Windows. You'd have
thought this would be simple... note the use of the word "Windows" in
the previous sentence.
- Fixes a bug in Montage UltraLight that could crash it if an item was
selected from the recent documents list in its File menu.
- Adds an option have Graphic Workshop prompt you to open ZIP archives
in the stand-alone Archive Manager application if you double-click on
one and it proves to contain no pictures.
- Improves the handling of the Format override windows in the Destination
selector.
- Improves the browser window thumbnail logic.
- Adds an option to the Archive Manager Setup window to define the font
size for the items in the main application window's list of archive
items, for those of us with tired eyes.
- Addresses a potential issue with the recent file thumbnail list in the
GWS Camera screen capture application.
- Speeds up and improves the color quantization logic in GIF Construction
Set UltraLight, for better-looking animations with less of a wait.
- Fixes a bug in the Help function of Archive Manager's Setup window.
- Fixes several bugs in the Graphic Workshop Print from View function.
- Addresses a potential security issue.
- Addresses a number of user interface issues.
- Updates the validation logic to deal with several additional... if
happily obscure... Windows 10 issues.
- Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software
developers never really stop meddling with.
- Updates the documentation.
We'd like to urge all the users of Graphic Workshop Professional 7 to
download and install this update... doubly so if you're running
Windows 10.

If this is the first posting to the Alchemy Mindworks Update List
you've seen of late, you're not alone.
It has come to our attention that several large commercial e-mail
providers have installed "black hole" spam blockers... that block way
more than just spam.
There's a complete discussion of this issue at:

If our mail to you is being blocked, chances are other messages you'd
like to receive are too. It's hard to know when you're not receiving
your e-mail.
We urge all our readers to contact the providers of their e-mail
solutions, determine whether their mail is being subject to one of
these brute force spam traps and request to opt out.
