Announcing the New Alchemy Mindworks Web Site

We're pleased to announce that Alchemy Mindworks has a fresh new web
site, and that none of our staff involved in creating it were left
with any permanent emotional disorders... or at least, nothing they
can document.
The new Alchemy site features a bold, contemporary look; larger text
for easier reading; pages that load way faster; pure HTML5 coding to
ensure compatibility with even the weirdest of web browsers and no
more unicorns than there used to be.
Despite its shiny, sophisticated attitude, however, the new site
preserves the intuitive navigation and architecture of its
predecessor. If it were any easier to find stuff, it would work by
thought control alone.
You can imagine what our lawyers would have to say about the privacy
issues involved in a thought-actuated web site, so we're not going
there.
We'd like to invite everyone to drop by for a visit — please click
on the web page above or the blue button below. (We should note that
a few of the ancillary pages — some of the original articles, for
example — aren't on line as yet. They're in the pipe.)

e-Paint 8 Revision 5
(second notification)
e-Paint 8 has been updated. This release:
* Implements an extensive review of the e-Paint drawing tools, and
addresses a substantial number of somewhat obscure but
substantially embarrassing issues with them.
* Updates thefilter interface to enhance its reliability and plug
a memory leak.
* Improves the Shadows function with a better blurgenerator.
* Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software
developers never really stop meddling with.
* Updates the documentation.

PNG MNG Construction Set 8 Revision 5

PNG MNG Construction Set 8 has been updated. This release:
* Fixes several memory leaks in Animation Wizard which could crash
the application if it's asked to build large or complex
animations. Also, these things really shouldn't be there...
* Sorts out some permissions issues in the Favorites window that
could prevent documents from being added to or opened by it,
depending on your version and configuration of Windows.
* Addresses a number of user interface issues around the software.
* Improves the metrics in the Titles and Credits window. If you
use this feature to add titles and credits to your video of a
deer... or anything else... they'll look just that little bit
cooler.
* Improves the timing accuracy in the View window under some
builds of Windows.
* Improves the blur generator in the Shadow window. Generating
life-like, convincing blurs keeps some people awake for days.
We're not naming any names in this case...
* Fixes a potential memory leak in the plugin interface.
* Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software
developers never really stop meddling with.

GIF Construction Set Professional 8 has been updated. This release:

Graphic Workshop Professional 8 Revision 9

Graphic Workshop Professional 8 has been updated. This release:
* Fixes a bug which could cause the Graphic Workshop ICO reader to
display some Windows icons as wholly transparent, which is
pretty much the same as "invisible" or "totally absent."
* Fixes a problem with View mode which suppressed the Save As
function for the duration of a View session after saving an
image to the Windows clipboard.
* Fixes a bug that could cause two identical entries to appear in
Graphic Workshop's browser windows after saving from the Paste
to View or Paste to Crop functions.
* Fixes a bug in the e-Paint UltraLight polygon tool that could
cause objects to be drawn slightly offset to the left in some
circumstances, under some builds of Windows, in proximity to a
large penguin or other flightless aquatic bird.
* Addresses several issues with the format overrides options in
the Destination window which set some of the over-ridden
parameters incorrectly.
* Fixes a bug in the GWS Camera screen capture that could cause it
to omit part of the client area of the window being captured,
under some builds of Windows probably during a near-total solar
eclipse. Okay, maybe not the eclipse...
* Improves the responsiveness of the Abort button in the Progress
window for honking big JPG graphics.
* Improves the behavior of the color buttons.
* Improves the update speed of the View window for some display
hardware.
* Fixes a problem with the Favorites window that could prevent the
Pin Color menu from being displayed under some builds of Windows.
* Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software
developers never really stop meddling with.
* Updates the documentation.
